Project goal
The goal of this project was to revamp the elementary school Parent Advisory Council (PAC) website to improve usability.
The previous website had an outdated interface that was not mobile-responsive, difficult to navigate, and lacked organization between present and past information.
The primary objective was to create a modern, user-friendly, and mobile-responsive website that prioritizes easy access to essential information for parents —- without unnecessary complexity or flashy animations.
Project flow
1. Understanding User Needs
- Analyzed the existing website to identify pain points.
- Considered what parents typically look for when visiting the site.
2. Information Restructuring
- Organized content to separate current and past information.
- Simplified navigation to ensure parents can quickly find what they need.
3. Design & Development
- Created a clean, modern, and intuitive layout.
- Ensured full mobile responsiveness for accessibility on all devices.
Implementation & Testing
- Conducted usability tests to refine the interface.
- Gathered feedback to ensure the website meets the needs of the PAC and parents.
Final outcome
A straightforward, intuitive, and easy-to-navigate website that allows parents to quickly access the information they need—without the frustration of outdated navigation. This project reflects my passion for information architecture, making complex content simple and accessible while contributing to a meaningful community initiative.
